GOLF ANALYSIS

Functional Golf Systems (FGS®)

BACK-SWING

Assessing the body's ability to allow the proper joint motion for an effective back-swing (loading phase). I look at specific joint thresholds at the ankles, hips, thoracic spine and entire kinetic chain. Specific spinal movements are assessed for additional core loading capability (core activation).

IMPACT

Assessing the body's ability to allow the proper joint motion for effective impact (performance phase). I look at specific joint thresholds at the ankles, hips, thoracic spine and entire kinetic chain. Specific spinal movements are assessed for additional core control capability (core control).

FOLLOW-THROUGH

Assessing the body's ability to allow the proper joint motion for an effective follow-through (exploding phase). I look at specific joint thresholds at the ankles, hips, thoracic spine and entire kinetic chain. Specific spinal movements are assessed for proximal acceleration capability (core power).

FINISH

Assessing the body's ability to allow the proper joint motion for an effective finish (deceleration phase). I look at specific joint thresholds at the ankles, hips, thoracic spine and entire kinetic chain. Specific spinal movements are assessed for proximal acceleration capability (core function).

GOLFING INJURIES

Movement Rehabilitation Performance

Whether golf is a new interest or a lifelong passion, make the most of your time on the course by protecting yourself from golf injuries. Although golf is a great way to stay active, many golfers must deal with an injury at some point. Golf puts a lot of strain on the muscles, tendons, and joints throughout the body and while sudden injuries like a torn ligament or muscle strain can happen, a high percentage of golfing injuries are caused by repetitive stress and poor biomechanics.

Don’t ignore your pain!

I think of pain as an indicator, like the oil or service light on your dashboard. It lets us know that there is a possible issue, a disruption in the body’s normal functional biomechanics, and can be down to a whole scope of reasons. The issue is that pain is often ignored, and we need to appreciate that pain alters our normal movement, it is the protective nature of how the body functions. This often leads to compensations, altered biomechanics, and often compounds the strain or stress at a particular part of the body.

SYMPTOM COMPENSATION CAUSE

Getting to the cause

Traditional or conventional treatment and rehabilitation exercises are aimed at improving symptoms and may provide temporary relief or improvement but often they do not always get to the root cause. My skills and expertise move away from these types of models and I aim to develop strategies and injury plans that go beyond merely treating physical symptoms and compensations but actively addresses the influences (causes) that resulted in the condition.

Functional rehabilitation is aimed at restoring normal function.

Form Follows Function

Technique-driven coaching and over cueing can lead to what is often referred to as "Paralysis by Analysis". I work with coaches and athletes to give them an understanding of why proper function (biomechanics) should precede technique or form. I explain why it's more beneficial and show how to tap into the neural system (proprioceptors) by creating authentic task driven movements for improved subconscious reactions, specific to the functional task or sport.

3D MAPS

Improve the way you move!

Analyse your entire three-dimensional spectrum of movement and get access to a functional and robust performance system for ongoing enhancement.

With no equipment needed, we can address real-life function, assess your range of motion and control of motion throughout the body.

Utilising six vital transformational zones helps us to assess the motions in all the main joint complexes for all types of functional activities.

It's the most comprehensive movement assessment for functional, sport-specific, and performance-based activities.
